Karatu Simba Lodge offers accommodations in individual twin, double, or triple cottages or rondavels, featuring canvas walls and attached bathrooms with showers. The rooms are tastefully and simply decorated with handcrafted African hardwood furniture. Each unit includes its own deck with safari chairs for relaxing and enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding pastoral landscape. From your deck, you may spot baboons foraging in the barley fields or local herders tending their cattle. At night, fall asleep to the sounds of bush babies and Montane nightjars.

All rooms provide views of the forest, fields, and distant hills. They are beautifully and simply decorated with local fabrics and hardwood furniture, and each bed is equipped with a mosquito net. Full amenities are included, and rooms are solar-powered with solar-heated water. There is a power strip for charging devices.

For your convenience, each room is supplied with a flashlight, umbrella, and a whistle to alert security if needed. Since solar lighting may be dimmer than usual, we recommend bringing a headlamp or a small reading light for use at night. Please note that due to the lodge’s solar power system, hair dryers cannot be used. We kindly ask that you avoid attempting to plug in a hair dryer, as it may cause a power outage for the entire lodge.
