Discover Lemala Nanyukie Lodge
Opened in October 2018, Lemala Nanyukie Lodge is situated in the stunning Eastern Serengeti and upholds the exceptional standards of comfort and service found across the Lemala luxury collection. This includes properties such as Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge in the Serengeti, Lemala Mpingo Ridge in Tarangire, and Hamerkop House by Lemala in Arusha.
Named “Nanyukie,” meaning ‘endless plains’ in Maasai, the Serengeti is one of the world’s most renowned wilderness areas. Located just a 60-minute drive east of the Seronera Airstrip in the central region of the park, Lemala Nanyukie offers breathtaking views across these vast plains. The camp is set on a grassy savanna, dotted with rocky kopjes and shaded by ancient acacia trees.
This part of the Serengeti is a prime location for the dramatic wildlife spectacle of the annual wildebeest migration, as well as year-round game viewing. Known for its high density of wildlife, particularly big cats, the area was previously reserved for scientific research on predators, especially cheetahs. As a result, Lemala Nanyukie operates year-round, with game drives and walking safaris led by the camp’s highly skilled and knowledgeable guides.
At Lemala Nanyukie, guests will enjoy spacious tents with canvas walls, cathedral-like ceilings, and expansive hardwood decks. The décor features a light, contemporary style in bright whites and neutral tones, with warmth added through textured accessories, luxurious upholstery, wooden furnishings, and well-designed lighting.
The 15 lavish guest tents (13 standard suites and 1 two-bedroom suite) are set far apart to ensure privacy. Five of the suites include extra day beds for triple occupancy, and the two-bedroom suite is ideal for families or friends. Each tent features a large bed, a spacious lounge area, and a generous bathroom with a double vanity, indoor and outdoor showers, and a freestanding bathtub.
The private wooden deck includes sunken seating, an outdoor shower, and a stunning corner plunge pool with sweeping views of the Serengeti’s beautiful grasslands.
The main double-volume area offers a comfortable lounge and bar, an outdoor viewing deck leading to a refreshing swimming pool, and both indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Additionally, Lemala arranges special meals such as bush breakfasts and lantern-lit dinners, while the campfire is a perfect spot for post-dinner drinks and sharing safari stories.
A separate spa tent nestled among the trees provides a peaceful retreat for relaxation.
